Just waiting for that Promotion!!!

Well, i know that its been awhile since i even attempted to update others about my life! Honestly, there hasn't been a lot of interesting facts or details that have been worth sharing about! Until now, well...i should not be getting my hopes up to high, but people are telling me that my odds are looking pretty good.

I am currently working at GUESS? in West Edmonton Mall as a part-time sales associate. Its really fun, I get 50% of clothes, shoes and accessories! Which is a great thing, and plus I usually receive monthyl gift cards, depending on how well the store is performing.

Last year, around May, the management team told me that I was one of the prospects for a Footwear Specialist position. What the means, basically, is that I am in charge of the shoes division within the store, encouraging the staff to sell shoes and have a monthly goal that needs to be achieved. Its considered to be a little stepping stool into the Assistant Manager posistion. Unfortuneatley, I was passed up for the position and it was given to someone else, who was available full-time. I'm not going to lie to you, I was really bummed out about that position and was tempted to quit. However, GUESS? really takes care of their employees and is a leading brand name known nationally and international!

I decided to stick it out, and prove to myself that I don't need that postion to prove how well I would be for the management position. So, in December, I promised myself that not only will i average selling $3000 a day, but I will also be the Employee of the month. Proud to say, I achieved both my goals, and the District Manager and all the managers within our store noticed me. My name is becoming knownby some of the head office people, and I am making it known that I would like to grow within the company and continue up the success ladder.

I'm not 100% sure of what the outcome will be, but I will be having my quarterly meeting with our store manager within a couple of weeks, and she told me that things are looking really REALLY good for me at the moment, and it was also mentioned ot me this evening that they would really like to fast track my promotion so that I can start learning more office work and other things about the company.

I am really excited about this. At the moment I set aside all my piano teaching. I am currently down to one student, which I don't want to quit teaching. And just concentrating on school, and work. I believe that this is really where I want to be. I don't know if i have ever been this excited!!!!

WHATS IN WATSONVILLE?!

What is in Watsonville? Beautiful community, blooming with trees, wake up to the smell of ocean air!! There is lots in watsonville. The most amazing thing in Watsonville is my Lola (tagalog for Grandma). Imagine, a woman of 94, still singing, laughing and full of life, still knows how to shake, rattle and roll. Can recite any poem and translate songs that people couldn't even imagine. WOW!!!! Its amazing.

There I was sitting on the couch as my mom and auntie bring Lola Massing into the room. She starts to cry, and its not because of excitement of seeing people, but because of the lack of sight that she has and is sad to say that her health is now failing due to the lack of sight.

Thinking that she wouldn't have a clue to who I was, I went and took her hand to my forhead, (a symbol of respect and asking for blessing from an elder). She asked at first who i was, and pretended not to know me. Then all of a sudden she started to recite a poem in tagalog.."Ako ay tutula. Mahabang mahaba. Ako ay uupo. Tapus na po." (Translate: I have a very long poem.I am finished now. I will sit.) It was a poem that I once recited to her over 7 years ago. And then she took my face in her hands and smiled because she remembered me. I had tears in my eyes just seeing the strength of this woman.

"If only i have my sight, then i can do anything i want" She complained of being bored and sitting around the house with nothing to do. Fear that the ones she loved will be sick of her. But who can get tired of hearing childhood stories and history? Certainly not me. We all sat for hours listening to her sing, and laugh and recite.."four scores and seven years ago." she sang Lupang hinirang ...BUT in English. The faces of people around where all amazed and mouths were dropped wide open in astonishment.

I introduced her to my boyfriend. And she took his hand in hers and suddenly asked, "is this a boy or a girl" with a hint of teasing. Then after people told her that Ted was most definitely a boy, she continued on, "my ..he is chubby!!" and we just burst into laughter.

When we were saying Goodbye to her, she took his hands again and said, "don't forget to invite us to your long table (wedding). You need to tell us early, so i can do my make-up, and curl my hair, and put on my pretty dress. Then I will sing an Ilikano song for you and no on ewill stop me." I just smiled, and Ted realized that the pressure was on! ^_^.

She may be 94, but she has the strength of a 60 year old. She can out with any one and still have conversation to spare. I love sitting and listening to Lola, because thats my history of family being passed down from generation to generation. I know she will continue to live longer....

BOREDOM

THIS IS THE TOTAL CAUSE OF BOREDOM....DUM DUM DUM....While sitting in the courtesy car, i took the liberty of playing with the camera and passing wat little time that I had.
(HIHIHI...I just noticed that you can see Ted struggling in the back, trying to figure out how to open the gas tank. HAHAHHA) Therefore, i realized that i was capable of making silli faces! hahaha...Plus, my new haircut apperantly reminds people of kuya j. DO I LOOK LIKE KUYA J?! Honestly people, i'm much more handsome with no facial hair (wait...he doesn't have any either...hahaha) and long beautiful hair (which he has non) and hmm...i can't find any more comparison. On the other hand, I'm proud to look like my brother. That just goes to prove that all them stories that i was told as a child that I was adopted...IS A LIE!!! It took me forever to realize that they were lying to me, but thats ok.

TIME GOES BY....so slowly

So, i'm into my last week of work, before we get ready to drive down to L.A! I'm so psyched about going, but not psyced that i choose to work this week. SUCKS to be me!! BUT, i do need the $$$$ the first week that i'm back, b/cuz i'm probably going to spend all my money down there. TSK TSK. There are some things i wish i saw down the road, like..."why did i have to get a new cell phone?! oh why oh why?" and other questions like "did i really need those pair ofjeans?!" I BARELY WEAR THEM ANYWAYS!!!! Darn you fashion world...having to keep up with trends and all that...:(

On another Note: SPENDING TIME WITH NIECE AND NEPHEW ARE A MUST

I was chilling with my niece one sunday and she turns to me and says Tita (Auntie in Tagalog) Christelle, your earrings are pretty. When am I getting earrings? Alexia has them. Did you buy me some already?...SHOCKED, and AMAZED that quite the couple of sentences came out of a three year old, i just laughed and smiled. Then I said, "You have to ask your Tito Ted, and see if he bought you any yet."

Malachi, still slowly learning to speak, shows more in his actions and behavior. He can be quite the active boy. He seems to be in the stage that he wants to have everything his way, literally. And if you don't give in, there will be quite the face and then the tears! Its sooo fun to try and play his game, and understand his rules.

Disneyland here we come!!!

Time is slowly ticking...I decided to sit down and start planning my itinerary for the trip to L.A! I'm so psyched. Ted and I were talking over supper at EAST SIDE MARIOS!!!(Yummy) A And we were thinking of how much money we need to save for Disneyland. I figured..there's no point in my going all out shopping, considering i have to wear mostly GUESS clothing at work, as long as I go shopping in LAS VEGAS, Cesear Palace Hotel! ^_^ wowweee...

Only two places I REALLY REALLY REALLY...Really want to go shopping at, 1. GUESS/MARCIANO (Las Vegas 2. Victoria Secret..nah, I lied...3 places, 3. Bath and Body Shop. Now,i'm just saying that, but i'll probably want to go more places and spend on random things.

#10 in all AMERICA AND CANADA

HEY TO ALL THE BLOGGERS...So, at work there is a competition going on. To see which store can sell the most amount of jeans. ^_^. The top 5 winners get a free pair of jeans a month for 12 months, and there are 5 more who are pulled out of a draw at the end, and they too get a free pair of jeans for 12 months. The manager of the winning store gets to go to LA and design an exclusive pair just for themselves! Its actually quite competetive and drives people crazy...amazingly enough, our store is #1 out of 170+ stores, and 2 in our store are in the #1 and 2 places! I know its a large stretch for me to get ot that spot...BUT...i'm going to try...

On another note, i'm really trying to make myself vocal at work..about wanted to get promoted! ^_^ Godwilling, maybe by Christmas!!!!! So,i just gota stick it out and work my hardest to get up there. Lots of people have encouraged me about really shining in the work place, especially about the accessories sections. We might be getting an actual accessory store in WEM...please pray that i don't get my hopes up tooooo high in wanting that position! I REALLY WANT TO BE THE MANAGER!!!! Oh well...if its Gods will for me.


HMMM...so, in less than two weeks Ted and I will be drving my mom down to the states. I'm so excited, bcuz this will be our first, "real" vacation togeher. We even get to fly back the followng week! Isn't that amazing?!??!?! Man, its hilarious at the fact that ted has butterflies in his stomach about getting on a plane, i'm just psyched at the fact that he and I get to go somewhere together, and plan things...and just have a great time!!! MEMORIES!!

Another day gone by...

hey guys...nothing new in my life. It seems so boring, when people asked me whats new, i say..."NOTHING" All I do is work, sleep, work, sleep...i think i eat somewhere inbetween! I have no clue! But, i do have good news...We have a new camera! Its so pretty too!! (Its white) like my last one, 6.0 megapixels, and a lot of other things i have no clue what they mean, But ted understands and thats good enough for me! ^_^

When i think of something, i'll eventually update! But, here are some pictures! ENJOY for now!!! ^_^

Times have changed

Well...it seems like forever since i last updated my page! Have no clue whats going on in my life? Well, same here. Seems like theres always something going on or changing. For the last time i have decided to changed my major. No more music. I ust received my acceptance letter into Grant Macewan!!! Diploma of Business. I'm so pysched. I have no clue why never thought of this before.

I am working at two jobs at the moment, and get really realy tired between the both of them. Its funny thouh, at the moment i feel really apreciated at one job and the other job..well, it seems like i'm having the most difficuilt time of my life!!! Today my paid a great compliment. The new manager at ALDO is still wondering why the management let me go in the first place!!! Oh well, their loss..no bigie!
